Alien Nine: The Video Game is a 2D action platform game based on the anime and manga of the same name developed by Azumanga Interactive, published by Bandai Namco Games, and co-published by Capcom for the Bandai Chaos.
The game is mainly a hack of Kamen no Ninja Hanamaru for the Famicom (which was later released as a reskin on the NES called "Yo! Noid"), but adds a character selection, and a health bar containing 3 hearts. The time limit runs much slower unlike the original game giving you time to complete the level.
The game uses new music made exclusivly for the game and the Alien Nine theme (from the anime OVA series) used on the title screen.
Aliens are once again invading Yuri's middle school and it's up to the Alien Party team Yuri, Kumi, and Kasumi to stop the aliens.
You have an option to play as Yuri Otani, Kumi Kawamura, and Kasumi Tomine who all play the same. Each character uses their alien helmets as weapons, they can gather magic points by collecting scrolls and use them for screen-clearing special attacks or very rare power-ups, both kinds of which are found in large scrolls opened with their weapons. Extra lives are awarded for every 20,000 points scored. Most levels are traveled on foot, but some exception in levels varies which includes a skateboard and their alien helmets. Minigames varies after beating the first level or by jumping in a certain spot. The Boss battles also varies in the game, which in this case are card-based battles for the bosses.
The final boss in the game is the Yellow Knife.
- The reason for this game being rated E10+ is due to the boss battles, unlike the original games, the alien's burst into green slime after they are defeated.
