Anchovy (Japanese: アンチョビ Anchovy) is a lazy bird villager from the Animal Crossing series, appearing in all canonical games since Dōbutsu no Mori. His initial phrase is the noise birds make, which is "chirping." In Animal Crossing his initial phrase, "chuuurp," has one more "u" than in the sequels.

Anchovy is a brown roadrunner with a sharp, yellow bill and thick, black eyebrows. He initially wears the Straw Shirt in Animal Crossing, but in Animal Crossing: Wild World, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Animal Crossing: New Leaf and My Animal Crossing, he wears the Earthly Knit.

Anchovy has the Blue Table, the Parquet Flooring, and the Modern Wall, and he possesses a Retro Stereo in his house that plays "K.K. Ragtime." In Animal Crossing, he has five Slot Machines. In Animal Crossing: Wild World, he has five Pinball Machines.

As a lazy villager, Anchovy will be easy to get along with due to his laid back lifestyle. Like all lazy villagers, he shares an interest in food and relaxing. He will enjoy partaking in the usual hobbies, usually for relaxing reasons or for food (fishing). He will get along well with other villager types such as the normal villagers who act as a mother or elder sister figure and peppy villagers who appear to be around the same age. He may offend or confuse jock villagers, who have a conflicting lifestyle of exercise and fitness, who do not understand the reason behind the lazy lifestyle choice.

Anchovy appears as a villager in the Wii U installment of the Animal Crossing series, My Animal Crossing. In the game, Anchovy is a lazy bird villager. Anchovy likes to relax and fish, often letting the fish go out of boredom. He will often the player(s) to get him fruits or deliver goods for him. He often jokes about wanting to get married just for the buffet that comes afterwards.
Anchovy claims to not have a favourite holiday, but drops hints as to liking Halloween.
