Donkey Kong Sr., better known as Cranky Kong, is an elderly Kong and a character in the Donkey Kong series of games. His stated by Rareware (the developers of Donkey Kong Country) that he is intended to be an aged version of the original DK (from the original 1981 Donkey Kong game), while the current Donkey Kong is the son of Donkey Kong Jr., it is unknown DK Jr. has not appeared in a video game since the Nintendo 64 title "Mario Tennis". Cranky is the grandfather of Donkey Kong and the husband of the late Wrinkly Kong. Cranky Kong is well known by players of the series, as he often breaks the fourth wall as he complains about the game he is in.
