Death 2 is the sequel to the 2000 game Death.

The player mainly encounters Italian units, although sometimes the player encounters the Nazis and Vichy French units. The Death 2: Elite Unit expansion pack has the player mainly encounter Japanese units.

Prior to the game's release, some people were apalled that a FPS game like Death would be released on a "family-friendly" console like the Nintendo GameCube. Apple Entertainment, the game's publishers, defended the game's GameCube release, saying "some hard-core gamers could be playing the GameCube. We want to cater to them with the Death series".

A sequel, Death 3, was released in 2005.
