Donkey Kong Jr. is a stage in Super Smash Bros. Strife. It is based upon the first level of the arcade title Donkey Kong Jr.. It is similar to the 75m stage from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, as it is a pixellated stage based off a Donkey Kong title, and allows the fighters to collect useless points by touching certain objects; in this case, fighters can collect points by touching the fruits that appear around the stage.
Stage Layout[]
Donkey Kong Jr. is a replica of the first level of the game of the same name. As such, the stage consists of a number of floating platforms. Starting from the top of the stage, there exists a longer platform that extends off the left of the screen towards the blast line, and the right of the platform drops down a small bit. A small platform hovers above it near the left of the screen.
Below those platforms are three more platforms. One is located on the right of the screen, while two on the right. On the right, the two platforms float parallel to each other, though are not directly aligned.
Lastly, at the bottom of the stage, there are five platforms, which appear to float atop the water. One rests on the left side and, like the one at the top of the stage, extends off towards the blast line. Four rest at uneven heights to the right of the stage, similar to a stairway.
Hazards[]
At random points throughout the match, Mario and a caged Donkey Kong will travel from the background and onto the foreground, signalled by a short musical cue. While Donkey Kong's cage acts as a platform, touching Mario deals slight damage and knockback. Mario will also throw red and blue Snapjaws, which damage fighters on touch but can also be defeated with projectiles. The Snapjaws travel across both the top and the bottom of two platforms that Mario stands on, and will then travel down one of the many vines in the background. Upon reaching the end of a vine, it will fall off the screen.
