Ayu in Ice World is an action arcade style game featuring Ayu Tsukimiya from Kanon developed by Azumanga Interactive, published by Bandai Namco Games, and co-published by Sega for the Bandai Extreme, and Bandai PocketTurbo Plus.
The game is a hack of the 1995 Sega Mega Drive game Pepenga Pengo. But it adds a health bar containing 4 hearts, making the game more easier to beat. The number of enemies and hits on boss battles are shortened up for the game's difficulty, the ice blocks you create now respond instantly instead of a few seconds, and the original Pengo arcade is replaced by a training mode. The music in the game is replaced by original BGMs made for the game, with the exceptions of the World 7: Toy World theme which is now used on the title screen, and the arcade mode theme used as the training mode theme.
Gameplay[]
The goal is to defeat all enemies on screen, Ayu can create ice blocks to kick (by pressing B). Pushing block A against block B will cause A to stop after impact, and B to continue the momentum. Placing three diamond blocks in a row will also destroy all enemies on screen, as opposed to just rewarding the player with a bonus.
There are blocks that can be destroyed by kicking ice blocks into them. There is also an items system similar to Bomberman, affecting Ayu's speed and the amount of ice blocks she can create at one time. There is even a "battle mode" in which you can take on three other players, but each player is a different character from Kanon (player 2 is Nayuki Minase, player 3 is Shiori Misaka, and player 4 is Makoto Sawatari). And there's a training mode where you can practice on the game before playing the single player mode.
In 2 player mode, the 2nd player plays as Nayuki Minase.
