Osaka's Worldwide Rescue is a platform game featuring Osaka from Azumanga Daioh developed by Azumanga Interactive and published by Bandai Namco Games for the Bandai Chaos and Bandai PocketTurbo.

The game is a hack of the Sega Game Gear game The Lucky Dime Caper Starring Donald Duck.

Plotline[]

The Tenjoin Girls (Saki, Rin and Aya) have kidnapped Chiyo Chan, Miruchi and Yuka. Osaka embarks on a mission, traveling around the world to save her friends and defeat the Tenjoin Girls. But it wasn't over yet, Osaka goes against Dark-Father at the end of the game.

Gameplay[]

The game is a side-scrolling platformer. The gameplay follows the same pattern of Kagami In The Search For Tsukasa, but unlike Kagami, Osaka can attack enemies by hitting them with her purse or throwing sea slugs. She can also attack faster by collecting star items.

Version Differences[]

Despite the Bandai Chaos and PocketTurbo being very similar machines, there are some differences between the two versions of this game.

  • While following the same storyline, the intro sequences are different.
  • The level select screen on the Bandai PocketTurbo does not have any music.
  • The layout of platforms, enemy positions are different.
  • In the Bandai PocketTurbo version, bonus items are pre-placed in the level, whereas in the Bandai Chaos version they are only obtainable by killing enemies.
  • The Bandai Chaos game allows you to back track, the Bandai PocketTurbo version does not.
  • Collecting five stars in the Bandai Chaos game gives you limited invulnerability, the Bandai PocketTurbo version gives additional points.
  • When hit by an enemy, Osaka loses her purse weapon in the Bandai Chaos version; it can be obtained as bonus item after killing an enemy. The purse is not lost when hit by an enemy in the Bandai PocketTurbo version.
