The battle takes place atop a group of Arwings. At the beginning of the battle, there will be two Arwings that fly close to each other and remain relatively straight. Over time, a third and eventually a fourth Arwing will join these two, before eventually falling back. The Arwings tilt slightly and will occasionally rise and fall to different heights.
The wings and the cockpit of the Arwings can all be stood on. The wings are semi-soft, in that players can travel up through them, but not downwards.
When there are four Arwings on the stage, the Aparoid will begin firing missiles at two of the Arwings. These Arwings will eventually be hit and destroyed, exploding in the process to damage those standing atop them. The Aparoid's missiles themselves can not hurt the fighters, however. An Arwing may also perform an aileron roll, spinning off stage to dodge the missile; with the Arwing glowing a green colour before doing so to alert fighters.
The Arwings may also sometimes approach one of the walls of the canyon. Touching one of these walls will deal massive damage and knockback, which can be used in the favour of fighters should they knock opponents into them.
