| Harvest Moon|
|Developer|| Marvelous Interactive,|
|First release||Harvest Moon (1996)|
|Console of origin||SNES|
The Harvest Moon universe (or the Story of Seasons universe) refers to both Marvelous Interactive's Story of Seasons and Natsume's Harvest Moon series in reference to their appearances within the Super Smash Bros. fighting game series. Both series are farming simulator games, and the popularity of the titles in the series have spawned various clone titles that have rivalled the popularity of both series.
The history of the Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons is a complicated one. Originally a single series known as "Harvest Moon", the series switched publishers in 2013 from Natsume to Marvelous. When this occurred, Natsume kept the rights to the "Harvest Moon" name, and started a second series to continue the "Harvest Moon" name despite no longer owning the rights to the original series. The original series was renamed to "Story of Seasons" when Marvelous took over the rights to international publishing, though the Japanese name remained Bokujō Monogatari. Since the change in publishers, none of Natsume's "Harvest Moon" titles have been released in Japan.
Canon Representation Edit
As previously stated, the series has not received any representation in canonical Super Smash Bros. titles.
