Weapons Edit

Usable by Link Edit

Weapon Level Element Description
Hylian Sword Knight's Sword Lv. 1
HW - Light element icon
Light
The Hylian Sword allows for quick attack combos prioritizing close range combat. The Hylian Sword is the most basic and balanced weapons, being the first that is permanently available for use.

The Hylian Sword's attacks revolve, as one would expect, around various slashes, though classic Zelda techniques have been mixed in to the sword's various combos. The Spin Attack is the primary example of this with several attacks being based around the usage of this technique. Additionally, holding the standard attack button at the end of any combo will force Link to transition into a Spin Attack. Other Zelda techniques mixed into the Hylian Sword's combos include the Sword Beam and variations of the Down Thrust.

While not classified as part of the "Hylian Sword" class, the Master Sword reuses its attacks. The differences in these two weapons is the fact that the Master Sword has a base power of 300 (500 once its "Evil's Bane" ability is unlocked), and some attacks will include projectiles should Link be at full health.

It should be noted that, while the player can only wield the Hylian Sword while playing as Link, certain Adventure Mode scenarios may feature other warriors utilizing the Knight's Sword. In these cases, they share the same moveset as Link.

White Sword Lv. 2
Magical Sword Lv. 3
8-Bit Wooden Sword Lv. ★
Master Sword Lv. ★
Magic Rod Fire Rod Lv. 1
HW - Fire element icon
Fire
The Magic Rod focuses on primarily ranged attacks, as it has the ability to manipulate flames. Many of the Magic Rod's special attacks allow Link to juggle the enemies around him by trapping them within small torrents of flame. Unlike its appearances in other titles, the Magic Rod is capable of transforming, allowing for more methods of attack. Its other forms are a flamethrower-like device, as well as a large battle axe.

The Level 1 "Fire Rod" is based on the items appearance in A Link to the Past, and the Level 3 "Magical Rod" is inspired from its appearance from the original The Legend of Zelda.

Prism Rod Lv. 2
Magical Rod Lv. 3
8-Bit Candle Lv. ★
Great Fairy Great Fountain Fairy Lv. 1
HW - Water element icon
Water
One of the most unique "weapons" in the game is the Great Fairy. Unlike all other weapons, where the player primarily controls the character chosen, the Great Fairy "weapon" actually has the player take control of the Great Fairy, with Link trapped within a bottle that floats by her side.

The Great Fairy's attacks are all based around magic, with a large majority of her attacks having her firing blasts of energy upon the enemies around her. Though she is not all projectile-based, with some attacks being physical slams infused with magical properties. Several combos also have Link momentarily freed from the bottle to aid her in attacking, with one such example being a Dead Man's Volley-styled attack.

The Great Fairy's Level 1 appearance is based on the Great Fairy of Magic from Ocarina of Time. While its Level 2 and Level 3 appearances are also based on this Great Fairy, both tiers have the Great Fairy wearing costumes based on animals from Zelda titles; specifically the Golden Bee from A Link to the Past and the Loftwing from Skyward Sword for her Level 2 and Level 3 appearances, respectively. The Level ★ appearance of the Great Fairy has her take a voxel-based version of the [Great] Fairy sprite from the original The Legend of Zelda.

Great Forest Fairy Lv. 2
Great Sky Fairy Lv. 3
8-Bit Fairy Lv. ★
Gauntlet Silver Gauntlets Lv. 1
HW - Lightning element icon
Lightning
The Gauntlet weapon actually consists of two different Zelda items: the Gauntlets from Ocarina of Time and the Ball and Chain from Twilight Princess. The Gauntlets also allow Link to pick up and throw Pots and Bomb Flowers placed throughout the various maps. Additionally, he is also capable of picking up several different types of soldiers.

The combos of the Gauntlet weapon are primarily based on physical combat, with Link attacking foes with the Ball and Chain through a majority of them. Link is also capable of summoning stone pillars, near-identical to the ones he was capable of lifting in Ocarina of Time. The Gauntlet weapon, like other weapons, is infused with an elemental property that it may not have had in previous titles, and in the case of the Gauntlet, this is the power of electricity. Many of the combos show that Link is capable of charging enemies with electricity through the Gauntlets he wears.

The Level 1 "Silver Gauntlets" are based on the Silver Gauntlet and Ball and Chain from Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess respectively; the Level 2 "Golden Gauntlets" uses the Golden Gauntlets from Ocarina of Time and an original, spiked variant of the Ball and Chain; and the Level 3 "Power Gloves" are based on the recurring item of the same name, and features a Chain Chomp from various Zelda titles and the Mario series. Additionally, like several other weapons, the Gauntlet has a Level ★ variant based on an item from The Legend of Zelda. In the case of the Gauntlets, Link gains the Power Bracelets and carries a Raft instead of the Ball and Chain.

Golden Gauntlets Lv. 2
Power Gloves Lv. 3
8-Bit Raft Lv. ★
Horse Epona Lv. 1
HW - Light element icon
Light
While Epona appears in Link's introduction and victory cutscenes, she also appears as part of a weapon. Wielding a sword while on horseback, Link can charge through opponents while still slashing at them with his sword. Several of Epona's attacks have her slamming the ground with her hooves, and these cover a ranger larger than many other weapons' attacks.

While Epona's Level 1 appearance was created by Koei Tecmo specifically for the Hyrule Warriors titles, her Level 2 and Level 3 incarnations are based on her appearances from Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time, respectively.

Twilight Epona Lv. 2
Epona of Time Lv. 3
Spinner Ancient Spinner Lv. 1
HW - Lightning element icon
Lightning
The Spinner is based upon the item of the same name from Twilight Princess, with the Level 1 "Ancient Spinner" being aesthetically identical.

The Spinner's attacks, as one would expect, are nearly entirely physical. As the Spinner is of the Lightning element, some of its attacks also allow it to fire bursts of electricity.

Link using the Spinner travels faster than Link does on foot; with its speed even being able to damage some enemies just by coming in contact when at full speed. Unlike being on foot, however, the Spinner does not accelerate quickly.

Enhanced Spinner Lv. 2
Triforce Spinner Lv. 3
Badge Bee Badge Lv. 1
HW - Lightning element icon
Lightning
Amiibo logo white
The Badge weapon allows Link to control a swarm of Bees that attack enemies. While generally slow, as the swarm all work as one mass, the attacks have larger range than most weapons.

The Lv. 1 "Bee Badge" is based directly on the item's appearance from A Link Between Worlds. Its Level 2 and 3 variants, however, are of original design.

Honey Badge Lv. 2
Queen Badge Lv. 3

Usable by Zelda Edit

Weapon Level Element Description
Rapier Polished Rapier Lv. 1
HW - Light element icon
Light
The Rapier allows for quick close-ranged combat. Zelda can travel in a zig-zag pattern at a high speed to quickly defeat enemies, as well as float high in the air and quickly defeat enemies within a small area. Though primarily utilizing the Rapier, Zelda may also include the use of the Light Arrows within her attacks.

All the Level 1, 2, and 3 appearances of the Rapier are of original creation. The Lv. ★ appearance of the weapon uses a voxel-based sprite of the White Sword from The Legend of Zelda.

Glittering Rapier Lv. 2
Gleaming Rapier Lv. 3
8-Bit White Sword Lv. ★
Baton Wind Waker Lv. 1
HW - Lightning element icon
Lightning
The Baton weapon allows Zelda control of the winds to defeat enemies. Generally a slower method of attack, the Baton allows for powerful ranged attacks infused with lightning, whether it be through direct contact with a bolt of lightning, or through the creation of a small tornado that can trap enemies in place as they have damage dealt to them.

The Level 1 "Wind Waker" weapon is based on the item of the same name from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. While the Level 2 and 3 appearances are of original creation, the Baton's Lv. ★ appearance is based on the Recorder item from The Legend of Zelda.

Sacred Baton Lv. 2
Glorious Baton Lv. 3
8-Bit Recorder Lv. ★
Dominion Rod Old Dominion Rod Lv. 1
HW - Darkness element icon
Darkness
The Dominion Rod weapon allows Zelda to summon statues to attack enemies. These statues are the large hammer-wielding one found in the Temple of Time dungeon and the owl statues, both from Twilight Princess. Zelda can switch between which statue is spawned by using a strong attack; though some combos may also switch them after use.

Both the Lv. 2 and Lv. 3 appearances of the Dominion Rod are of original design created for Hyrule Warriors. The Old Dominion Rod, Lv. 1, is based directly on the Rod's appearance from Twilight Princess.

High Dominion Rod Lv. 2
Royal Dominion Rod Lv. 3
Lantern Faron Lantern Lv. 1
HW - Fire element icon
Fire
Amiibo logo white
Using the Lantern weapon, Zelda can summon fire that she can control and use in a variety of ways. Some attacks are similar to the attacks of the Poe enemies, Wizzro, and King Dodongo. Many of the Lantern's attacks are slow, but have a lot of range that can defeat many enemies at once.

All three of the Lantern's designs are directly based on the appearances of the Lantern in various Zelda games. The Lv. 1 Faron Lantern is based on the Lantern from Twilight Princess, and the Lv. 3 Spirit's Lantern is based on the Poe Lantern from Twilight Princess HD. Though not identical in appearance, the Lv. 2 Exotic Lantern is based on sprite of the Lantern from The Minish Camp
