Jungle Hijinxs is a stage in Super Smash Bros. Strife, returning from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. The stage seems inspired by the jungle levels from Donkey Kong Country Returns.
Stage Layout[]
Jungle Hijinxs actually consists of two stages, with one stage placed in the foreground, and one in the background. Fighters can travel between these two stages using Barrel Cannons placed around both stages.
If a single fighter uses the Barrel Cannons too often, the cannon will explode as opposed to send the fighter to the opposite stage, dealing damage.
The stage placed in the foreground takes a very natural appearance. It consists of three platforms: one main platform that is slanted downwards, and two that float off to its sides.
The stage in the background takes an opposing stance, taking the appearance of part of artificial, likely ancient, ruins. The main ruins platform placed on the right side of the stage consists of a main platform with four floating above it in an unaligned platform. To the left of the aforementioned platform are two large towers that can be stood on.
As the stage in the background is further from the blast lines than the stage in the foreground, the knockback dealt to fighters is increased.
Hazards[]
The stage has two major hazards in addition to the Barrel Cannons exploding after being used multiple times. The first is the fact that either of the stages in the front or back may temporarily lower off the screen; though the one in the foreground will only lower its main platform, with the two to its sides remaining on-screen to catch fighters as they respawn. Using a Barrel Cannon while the opposing stage is off-screen will have the fighter land in another Barrel Cannon, thus making no progress as they would land in the same spot. More Barrel Cannons will appear in order to accomplish this.
The second major hazard are the Screaming Pillars that may appear in-between the two stages. The Screaming Pillar will bounce a fighter back to the side they came from; though once they are hit the pillar will collapse.
