Linkle (Japanese: リンクル Rinkuru) is the main protagonist of a side-story in Hyrule Warriors Legends - a spin-off of The Legend of Zelda series - and a newcomer to the Super Smash Bros. series introduced in Super Smash Bros. Strife. Linkle is a Cucco shepherd from a small village.
Mikako Komatsu reprises her role as Linkle, with a majority of voice clips being reused from Hyrule Warriors Legends and its Wii U counterpart.
Linkle is a resident of a small village, where she works as the shepherd of a flock of Cucco. She treasures a large compass that has been passed down through the generations of her family, and because of it believes it to prove that she is the true Hero Chosen by the Gods.
Linkle was one of the few original characters created directly for Hyrule Warriors, and the only one that was created for Hyrule Warriors Legends. Linkle was originally envisioned as Link's little sister, but was cut from the Wii U version. Due to her appearance in the Hyrule Warriors art book and the resulting popularity, she was added into Hyrule Warriors Legends and Hyrule Warriors through downloadable content.
|Neutral Special Move||Sharpshooter||Linkle fires a flurry of arrows forwards. The attack lasts as long as the button is held or for a few seconds. While she fires, she can travel left or right on a platform, but will always fire in a single direction.|
|Custom Variants||Fireshot||Linkle instead shoots fire. Though it has less range and does not last as long, it can juggle opponents.|
|Longshot||Only one, extremely large arrow is fired, and it travels further but at a slower speed. It deals very little knockback, and slightly less damage.|
|Triple Shot||The attack can be charged up and stored. Once used, the attack fires only three arrows, but allows for more freedom in its use.|
|Side Special Move||Flaming Kick||Linkle kicks as she travels forwards, with a circle of fire burning around her as she spins.|
|Custom Variants||Gust Kick||The kick does not create fire, but instead a tornado that pushes away nearby fighters. Linkle travels a little further as well.|
|Shadow Kick||Linkle does not travel as far, nor does she create a circle of fire, but enemies are trapped within her kick and launched at the end of the attack.|
|Ice Kick||The attack is more powerful and has a chance to freeze opponents solid, but Linkle does not travel forwards, instead remaining stationary.|
|Up Special Move||Flurry Shot||Linkle kicks and travels sharply upwards. At the top of the jump, Linkle will fire arrows in a spherical radius around her before falling helpless; though if the standard attack button is pressed mid-attack will instead causes her to slam downwards in an electric charge.|
|Custom Variants||Electric Kick||Linkle instead kicks forwards at an upwards angle, which is charged by electricity. At the end of the attack, Linkle will fire a flurry of arrows as normal; though this can not be cancelled into a slam.|
|Upperkick||Linkle travels higher than normal, though does not deal damage. Linkle will begin to fall helpless at the peak of the kick. She can not fire arrows at the end of this attack.|
|Drill Kick||Linkle does not travel upwards as far, though she traps those she hits in a flurry of hicks and she travels upwards, knocking them away at the peak of the jump.|
|Down Special Move||Bomb Arrow||Linkle fires a large Bomb in an arc using one of her crossbows, which explodes when it hits the ground or an opponent. The attack can be charged indefinitely, but it will not change anything; only delaying the amount of time before she fires it.|
|Custom Variants||Mega Bomb Arrow||The bomb is much larger, as is its explosion. It can not be fired as far, however, making it hard for Linkle to avoid damaging herself.|
|Ice Bomb||The bomb explodes into a blue explosion, which instead freezes those near it. Deals less damage and knockback, but can be fired further.|
|Tornado Bomb||The bomb is smaller, though deals massive knockback damage with a gust of wind. In exchange, it deals no damage unless the bomb explodes on contact with a fighter (and even then, the damage dealt is minimal), but can be fires extremely far.|
|Final Smash||Flurry Rush||Linkle will kick and slide a short distance forwards. If she comes in contact with a fighter, she will knock them straight upwards before firing a flurry of arrows at them, followed by a Bomb Arrow.|
|Up taunt||Poses and puts her hood up. Linkle's hood will remain up until her side taunt is used, or she is KO'd.|
|Side taunt||Points one crossbow towards the sky, knocking her hood off in the process should it have been up.|
|Down taunt||Pulls out a map and studies it, before putting it away and pointing forwards.|
On-Screen Appearance Edit
Linkle is carried on-screen by a Cucco, which then flies off.
Victory Fanfare Edit
The victory fanfare used by characters of the The Legend of Zelda series in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U is reused for Super Smash Bros. Strife. The fanfare is a cover of the fanfare that plays when Link obtains a Triforce piece in the original The Legend of Zelda.
