Lucha (Japanese: マスカラス Mascaras or Masukarasu (mask-crow)) is a smug bird villager that first appeared in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. His name comes from the Spanish word "Luchador". His Japanese name comes from Mil Máscaras, a famous and influential Luchador. "Karasu" (カラス) is also the Japanese term for "crow" in English. It is either coincidental or intentional that they would give the name to a bird.
Lucha is crow wearing a red luchador mask (this is evident when he blinks). He also has a zipper on the back of his head along with the bottom of his head looking hollow. His arms are navy blue and his legs are white.
Lucha's house is similar to that of some Cranky villagers', especially Camofrog's. His house includes two boxing ring pieces, a locker, a water tank, a bench press, a blue mat, a treadmill and various punching bags. He plays K.K. Western in his CD Player.
Below is a brief description of the smug personality. For more information, click here.
Lucha has a smug personality, meaning he is a kind-hearted villager who acts very polite, and sometimes gentlemen like, to others. He will easily get along with other neighbours, as well as the player. Being a smug villager Lucha seems to be somewhat of a jock, yet still lazy and cranky when need be. Lucha falls asleep at 1 a.m. and will wake up at 8:30 a.m.
Lucha appears in My Animal Crossing as a smug bird villager. In the game, Lucha is a sporty and charismatic bird who has a competitive nature, but also likes to "chillax" whenever he doesn't train. He enjoys fishing and catching bugs, often participating, and scoring highly, in competitions such as the Bug Off or Fishing Tourney.
Like other smug villagers, Lucha is somewhat hard to become best friends with, although he is often friendly to the player no matter how badly they treat him. Becoming best friends with him will reward the player with the ability to play more competitions with him, as they are now his "first choice" for games. Should the player who befriends them be female, he will believe that the player has a crush on him, and will occasionally flirt with her.
