Created from modified Mew DNA, Mewtwo was designed to be the ultimate Pokémon™. It didn't take on any of Mew's kinder traits and only uses its intelligence to destroy its enemies. Or...so it seems. Perhaps it just feels frightened or even tormented, and that's why it lashes out. Whatever the reason, Mewtwo is not to be messed with.
For information on the fighter for which this amiibo becomes, see Mewtwo (SSBStrife).
All variations of the Mewtwo amiibo are compatible with Super Smash Bros. Strife. Like with Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, the amiibo becomes a Figure Player (FP) when scanned. While computer-controlled, the amiibo levels up as it fights, learning from its opponents as it does. Unlike in Super Smash Bros. 4, it can be levelled up to level 80 as opposed to 50. The FP collects collectible items during battle, which can be fully obtained by scanning the amiibo in the amiibo menu.
Data from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U is compatible with Super Smash Bros. Strife. Data from Super Smash Bros. Strife is not compatible with Super Smash Bros. 4, however, due to the higher level cap.
The Mewtwo amiibo, like all other amiibo, is compatible with Hyrule Warriors II. Like most other amiibo, the Mewtwo amiibo does not have unique content attached to it, instead just granting a random award when used. Scanning the Mewtwo amiibo will grant the player a random material, a random weapon rated three stars or lower, a single Rupee, or a random amount of Rupees between 100 and 2500.
