Midgar is a stage in Super Smash Bros. Strife, returning from Super Smash Bros. 4. It is based upon the location of Midgar, one of the main settings from Final Fantasy VII.
Stage Layout[]
The stage's layout is generally simple: it consists of a single large platform with three free-floating, semi-soft platforms located above it in a triangular pattern. The small semi-soft platforms move around with some of the summons' attacks.
Hazards[]
Occasionally Summon Materia will appear and float about the stage. Should a fighter collect the Summon Materia, they will summon one of five monsters from the Final Fantasy series. Each one attacks and manipulates the stage in some way. The summoner is unaffected by the damage of the summons' attacks.
Judgment Bolt Ramuh electrifies the three floating platforms. While electrified, fighters can travel up through the platforms, but will take damage from the electricity while standing on them.
Zantetsuken Odin slices through the centre of the stage, splitting it in two temporarily. Fighters will be OHKO'd both by Odin's slash, and when the two halves of the stage come back together.
Tsunami Leviathan floods the stage with a high current wave. Fighters that fall into the stage will take slight damage and more than likely be swept off the left of the stage by the speed of the current.
Hellfire Ifrit creates a torrent of fire that tilts the stage to one side. Notably, Ifrit is the only monster that does not use its Final Fantasy VII appearance; instead using a design based more closely off the one used in Final Fantasy VIII.
