Mushroom Kingdom U is a stage in Super Smash Bros. Strife, returning from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. The stage switches between four different layouts via Kamek's magic, with each layout set within a different world of New Super Mario Bros. U.
One major change from the stage's Super Smash Bros. for Wii U counterpart is the removal of Nabbit, as the character now appears as an Assist Trophy character.
Stage Layout[]
The first layout, which every match begins on, is set within Acorn Plains, the first world of New Super Mario Bros. U. It contains a single, large platform with three soft platforms located above it; two on the left side parallel to each other, and one to the right.
Set in Rock-Candy Mines, one of the layouts is set on a single platform balancing like a lever atop a pointed spire. This platform is completely flat.
Another layout is set within the Meringue Clouds world. It consists of two platforms that extend off the bottom of the screen, separated by a large pit. Two platforms float above these two platforms: one located above the pit in the centre of the stage, and the other located above the larger platform on the right of the stage.
The fourth, and final, layout is not set within its own world, instead set within one of the many tower levels of New Super Mario Bros. U. The stage consists of two platforms that travel along a rectangular rail. As they travel along the rail, they can rub against each other, becoming one, much thicker, platform.
Hazards[]
Five events can occur, regardless of what the current layout is. These events are:
A giant beanstalk can sprout in the background of the stage. Its leaves can be used as platforms, though it will disappear over time.
A giant icicle will crash from the top of the stage into the stage, dealing damage as it falls, and freezing those that it lands on. The icicles can be used as destructible platforms when they get stuck in the ground. The falling of the icicle is signalled by drops of water raining from the sky.
Giant water geysers will shoot upwards from the bottom of the screen, and some will travel through the main platform of the stage. These geysers can be used as platforms, though some will also carry up Big Urchins that deal damage on contact.
Sets of Stretch Blocks will appear, and stretch horizontally to act as platforms.
Yellow platforms, which the fighters can travel through both ways, will travel horizontally through the stage.
