Pani Poni Dash! Puzzle Stack is a puzzle game based on the anime Pani Poni Dash! developed by Azumanga Interactive and published by Bandai Namco Games for the Bandai Revolution, Bandai CD Revolution, Bandai PocketTurbo and Bandai PocketTurbo Plus.
The game is similar to the Game Boy game Kirby's Star Stacker and its japanese Super Famicom game Kirby no Kirakira Kizzu (Kirby's Sparkling Kids). Both the Bandai CD Revolution and PocketTurbo Plus versions features voice actors from the anime.
The goal of the game is to earn as many shooting stars possible by matching pairs blocks, that fall from the top. There are three types of blocks, all based on the characters from Pani Poni Dash!: Himeko Katagiri, Rei Tachibana, and Mesousa. Stars are scored by sandwiching the shooting stars between two matching blocks. When stars are scored, they disappear along with the pair of blocks enclosing them. The game is lost when the falling blocks reach the top, so it is critical to eliminate as many blocks as possible by scoring stars.
There are four game modes in Puzzle Stack.
- Round Clear - this is the main game, split into five difficulty modes (Normal, Hard, Very Hard, Super Hard, and Insane), each with a certain number of rounds. Rounds are cleared by eliminating a set number of stars.
- 2P - the Multiplayer mode.
- Endless - The object is to eliminate as many stars as possible before the stack of blocks reaches the top of the screen; a hand raises up the set of blocks, introducing a new row.
- Time Attack - eliminate as many stars as possible in 3 minutes.
There is a high score table for the Endless and Time Attack modes, showing the top three scores for each mode.
Rebecca faces several of her students and the teachers in a contest. They're all randomised everytime you start a new game or you continue after you lost.
