Pyrosphere is a stage in Super Smash Bros. Strife, returning from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. The stage is based on the Geothermal Power Plant area on the Bottle Ship where Ridley is battled in Metroid: Other M.
Stage Layout[]
The stage consists of five different platforms, and takes on a very symmetrical appearance. The main platform floats in the middle of the Geothermal Power Plant, while four soft platforms - two on the left and two on the right, with one located above and slightly to the right of the one below it - float above it.
Hazards[]
Despite being a relatively simple-looking stage, fighters have to deal with a myriad of different hazards during a battle. The main hazard fighters will have to deal with is Ridley, whom appears as a boss character on the stage. Ridley will attack fighters with various claw swipes, jump attacks, and fire-based attacks. Ridley can be defeated, but will respawn over time. In timed matches, KOing Ridley grants the fighter a point, just as they would gain from KOing another fighter. In addition, Ridley can ally with a fighter that deals enough damage to him.
Several other enemies from Other M may periodically spawn on the stage, namely the FG II-Grahams, Joulions, and Zeros. The Zeros will crawl around slowly on the ground, but can be picked up and lobbed by fighters; the FG II-Grahams will fire bolts of energy forwards when attacked; and the Joulions inflate and explode after being attacked.
