Rebecca's Laboratory (also known as Pani Poni Dash!: Rebecca's Laboratory) is a game featuring Rebecca Miyamoto from Pani Poni Dash! developed by Azumanga Interactive and published by Bandai Namco Games for the Bandai Chaos.

The game is a hack of Gyromite on the NES, where you can now move the gates on the first controller instead of the second, you no longer need to hold the A or B buttons to raise or lower the gates. And the Test and Direct modes are replaced by Level Builder and Sound Test. Most of the sound effects are replace by new ones or are omitted entirely, and music from another NES title "Super Robin Hood" (from the Quattro Adventure compilation game) replaces the original music.

PlotEdit

Rebecca Miyamoto and her assistant, Mesousa, navigate side-scrolling platform levels. Their lives are threatened by dynamite and cats, and Rebecca's sleep-walking tendencies get her in trouble as well.

GameplayEdit

As Rebecca moves through the levels, you must control the gates by raising and lowering red and blue gates. The red gates are lowered or raised when pressing B, and the blue gates are lowered or raised when pressing A.

Game AEdit

In this mode for 1 or 2 players, the player controls Rebecca, switching on the fly. Rebecca (Player 1) and Mesousa (Player 2) must collect all of the bundles of dynamite in each of 40 successive levels. Wandering cats are a threat, but are harmless when eating fish found throughout the phases, which Rebecca may pick up and move at will. A cat crushed in a gate is worth 500 points. Bundles of dynamite are worth 100 points. Tens of Seconds left on the clock after each level are worth 100 points, while the ones digit are worth 10 points. Five extra lives are supplied.

Game BEdit

In this single-player mode, Rebecca is sleepwalking, and the player controls only the gates. Rebecca starts at the left edge of the screen, and walks slowly toward the right side of the screen. If she hits a gate, she will just continue to walk straight into it until it moves out of her way. The player must move the gates, allowing Rebecca to reach the right side of the screen. cats are present in this mode, but they mostly confine themselves to dead ends. There are 25 phases in this mode. Three extra lives are supplied.

Level BuilderEdit

In this mode, the player can design up to four levels.
