Spear Pillar is a stage in Super Smash Bros. Strife, returning from Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It is based upon the summit of Mt. Coronet, where the player can encounter Dialga (in Diamond) and Palkia (in Pearl), which is also known as Spear Pillar.
Scizor is fought here in their unlocking battle once the specific criteria to do so has been met.
Stage Layout[]
The stage primarily consists of two large parallel platforms. Neither can be fallen through, but as the sides of the stage are open, players can jump between the different levels at will. The stage's layout may also be slightly altered depending on if Dialga or Palkia spawn in the background of the stage.
Two platforms travel up and down and float above the higher platform.
Hazards[]
Six Legendary Pokémon may appear in the background of the stage. Dialga, Palkia, and Cresselia will interfere with the battle by attacking fighters or manipulating the stage's platforms, while Azelf, Uxie, and Mesprit will just sit and watch the battle; not interfering. Unlike in Brawl, multiple different Legendary Pokémon may spawn during the duration of a match, though only one will appear at a time.
Dialga[]
- Breaks the center third of the upper level creating a hole in the floor.
- Breaks an outer third of the upper level trimming a side a bit short.
- Tilts the stage at up to a 30 degree angle.
- Shoots a vertical Hyper Beam covering a third of the stage.
- Shoots a horizontal Hyper Beam covering the lower level.
- Slows time using Roar of Time. Unlike in Brawl, using the Timer item does not decrease speed any further.
- Jumps onto the stage and attacks nearby characters with a roar.
Palkia[]
- Breaks the center third of the upper level creating a hole in the floor.
- Breaks an outer third of the upper level trimming a side a bit short.
- Tilts the stage at up to a 30 degree angle.
- Shoots a vertical Hyper Beam covering a third of the stage.
- Shoots a horizontal Hyper Beam covering the lower level.
- Halves gravity by using Spacial Rend.
- Mirrors the stage (so that pressing right causes a character to appear to move to the left).
- Rotates the stage at a 180 degree angle; which also mirrors the player's controls.
Cresselia[]
- Throws a series of Psycho Cuts across the stage in straight lines from its position.
- Throws a single Psycho Cut that swoops across either the upper or lower.
