Takeru & Hikari: Educational Adventures is an educational game featuring characters from the anime "Takeru & Hikari" developed by Azumanga Interactive and published by Bandai Namco Games for the Bandai Chaos. It features 2 games in one: "Takeru's Numberland Hunt" and "Hikari's Letterland Safari."

The 2 games are hacks of the NES games Mickey's Adventures in Numberland, and Mickey's Safari in Letterland. Though the music and sound effects in both games are the same as the originals, the only difference is Mickey's voices are replaced by Takeru and Hikari's voices. And the Disney related enemies are changed too.

Takeru's Numberland HuntEdit

In this game, Takeru must collect all of the numbers from one to ten in order prevent Sumire from completely robbing Numberland. The five levels are: Number City, Number Factory, Space Center, Number Museum, and Sumire's Hideout. Basic math questions must be answered in order to progress to the next level. There are three difficulty levels; players can only "die" on the hardest difficulty level. Also, the player is given balls of bubblegum to be used against enemies as a weapon. These elements create a "traditional video game" environment to an otherwise "purely educational" video game.

The hardest mode of the video game also has a secondary function: to teach children about the basics of playing side-scrolling platform video games.

Hikari's Letterland SafariEdit

In this game, Hikari must collect all of the letters of the alphabet for her museum by going to six different territories. There are three levels of difficulty.

Enemies in the game include snakes, porcupines and alligators. However, players cannot die from these enemies - they are simply bounced of them. Using a digitized audio sample of each of the letter, Hikari spells with letters using her own voice.

This video game is intended for preschoolers and toddlers. Basic literacy skills are taught in this side-scrolling video game.
