The Urban Champion universe refers to the game Urban Champion in reference to its representation within the Super Smash Bros. series of fighting games. Urban Champion is a one-on-one 2D fighting game that revolves around each fighter having a set amount of stamina, and needing to manage it while having to deal with a variety of obstacles (such as falling flowerpots, or cop cars that reset the fighters' positions as to avoid suspicion). The aim of Urban Champion is to knock the opposing fighter down a manhole, thus offering a unique take on the fighting game formula at the time.

The Urban Champion universe is one of the few first party franchises not represented in any way in the canonical Super Smash Bros. titles.

	Urban Champion	The playable character of Urban Champion appears as an enemy in the Smash Run game mode of Super Smash Bros. Strife, aptly named "Urban Champion". As in Urban Champion, the character attacks with two different punches, making him a deadly enemy when in close proximity. Both a blue and green variant can be encountered, with both taking the appearance of 2D sprites ripped directly from their game of origin.

	Urban Champion	Back in the era of the NES, Nintendo experimented with a number of different ideas for potential series based on sports. There was Baseball, Soccer, Pinball, of course, but one of the more unique games came in the form of Urban Champion. Like Smash Bros., the goal of Urban Champion was to knock the opposing fighter off the screen, though in that game it was done by knocking them down a manhole. Now, the Urban Champion is back, fighting against Nintendo's greatest stars as an enemy in Smash Run. And this time, he doesn't have to worry about being arrested by the cops.
