Wario (Japanese: ワリオ Wario) is the main protagonist of both the Wario Land and WarioWare series, and a veteran fighter in Super Smash Bros. Strife. Wario first appeared as a fighter in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and was the first character in the series to include two distinctly different costumes in both his WarioWare biker outfit and his Super Mario overalls outfit.
Wario is voiced by Charles Martinet. A number of Wario's voice clips are different depending on whether his biker outfit or overalls outfit is being used; with the latter having a number of voice clips recycled from Mario Kart 8 while the former from previous Super Smash Bros. titles.
Changes from Super Smash Bros. 4
Wario is slightly heavier (107 → 108).
Despite this, Wario-Man's weight is unchanged.
Wario now has several attacks that reference the Wario Land series. His trademark Shoulder Charge attack from the series is now his dash attack, while the Earthshake Punch from Wario Land: Shake It! appears as his down throw.
Wario will now take battle damage, with his clothes becoming dirtier as he takes more damage. This is only prevalent with his overalls costume.
Wario's new down throw now buries opponents.
Wario has a new taunt, based on his character select animation from Mario Kart 8.
It takes Wario 7 frames to jump as opposed to 6.
Wario has slightly better traction (0.07 → 0.725)
Interestingly, Wario-Man's traction has been decreased (0.07 → 0.68).
Wario dashes at a faster speed (1.5 → 1.52).

Taunts
Two of Wario's taunts are reused from previous titles. Wario can also taunt while on his Wario Bike; though this taunt is also reused.

Wario crashes on-screen with the Wario Bike.
Victory Fanfare
The victory fanfare used by characters of the Wario series in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U is reused for Super Smash Bros. Strife. The fanfare is a cover of the Stonecarving City background music from Wario Land: Shake It!.
Victory Poses
All three of Wario's victory poses are reused from Super Smash Bros. 4.
- Laughs uncontrollably before falling to the floor.
- Pats his belly, farts, sniffs his butt, and scratches his head, before saying "oh" in surprise.
- Does donuts on his motorcycle and stops facing the screen with a "yes". Holds up his fingers in a "W" shape as he plucks his moustache.
