Wuhu Island is a stage from Super Smash Bros. Strife, returning from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. The stage is set on a platform that travels to a variety of different landmarks located across Wuhu Island.
Stage Layout[]
As previously mentioned, the stage is primarily set on a platform that travels to various different points of Wuhu Island. Like other similar stages, the layout of the platforms will change every time it appears.
The locations around Wuhu Island that the platform will stop at are the following:
- A cruiser: a small boat surrounded by water. Like Pirate Ship, fighters can swim in the water around the stage, though the current will push them to the left should they do so. Also like Pirate Ship, players will be meteor smashed down through the water should they hit the front of the cruiser.
- Boating gate: a single, flat platform suspended over the water by two walls. The bottom of the walls have small flotation devices on which fighters can stand.
- Frisbee Dog Park: a single platform that stretches to both the left and right blast lines. A dog and a Mii play Frisbee in the background.
- Maka Wuhu: the crater of Wuhu Island's volcano, which has been outfitted with two large platforms that point downwards towards the centre of the inside of the crater. There are also two smaller platforms on the exterior of it.
- Rocks at Sea: a series of rocks surrounded by water. One extends off the left blast line, while another rock is located near the right blast line but does not lead past it.
- Swaying Bridge: a semi-soft platform that reaches to both of the blast lines on either side of the stage. The bridge has many gaps that fighters can fall through.
- Swordplay Colosseum: a small flat platform suspended in mid-air by a pole located beneath it. Miis watch from the stands in the background of the stage.
- Talon Rock: a single flat platform that is at a slight downwards angle. It extends off the left blast line, with nothing to its right. Occasionally, a balloon may appear on the stage, which will deal slight damage and knockback to those nearby as it explodes.
- Wishing Fountain: a single platform that extends off both sides of the screen towards the left and right blast lines. In the centre of the stage is a fountain which fighters can stand on. The water released from the fountain will push fighters upwards.
Hazards[]
Falling off the main travelling platform will likely cause the fighter to be KO'd, as nothing is located beneath it. Additionally, should the platform travel low over the ground or near buildings or such, the player will be knocked away and take damage when they come in contact with them.
As previously mentioned, while battling at Talon Rock a balloon may appear and explode to deal damage to nearby fighters.
